Makeup: Revlon (Not So) Bold Lacquer Mascara!

Revlon Mascara Review

A couple of months back, I was invited to a Revlon Beauty Event, and was given several makeup products to take home and try. I was impressed with the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains and liked the Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks, so I was eager to try the Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara.

I absolutely love mascara and it is one of the few makeup products I would never leave the house without, so to say I am picky with how a mascara performs is not an understatement.

The mascara glided on effortlessly and it easily grabbed and coated the smaller lashes, but it was not dark enough for me. I figured with a name like 'Bold Lacquer', that the pigment would be, well, bold. But it wasn't for me. Even though I used the blackest black colour, I had to coat my lashes several times to get the pigment I wanted, which caused clumping issues. Once I got the colour I wanted, my lashes were very long, and because of the many coats I applied, there was some volume. Revlon also boasts that the Bold Lacquer Mascara contains "shine black fibres", but I found that it was not shiny or glossy at all. Another issue I found with the Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara was that it faded as the day went on, which for me is a sin! But for a drugstore brand that only costs around $10, it performed well enough for an everyday mascara. And even though I did like the length this mascara brought to my lashes, I would only use it during the day at work. I like more dramatic and darker mascaras for a nighttime or going out look.

P.s!: Even tough I had some issues with his mascara (remember I'm picky!), I do wear it daily to work, when a dramatic look would not be appropriate.I do this with a lot of makeup products that are not my favourites.

P.s,
Melanie!
