Just over a year ago, Hudson's Bay introduced a new clothing line named Design Lab. It's made by the same 'in-house'  brand Lord & Taylor but for the younger generation. And I am in love this new clothing line. It has some great fashion forward pieces, as well as some classic staples with an added twist or print.

I finally bought my first piece from Design Lab several months ago, it was a party dress that I got on clearance, and I love it!

Valentine's Day is almost here! I'm not to excited about the actual day but I'm a big fan of dressing for the occasion/event/holiday. So if it's Valentine's Day, it's easy to celebrate the day by adding some splashes of red, without going overboard into 'lovey-dovey sappy' land.

I decided to embrace by inner love child and came up with a casual Valentine's Day look by adding a few key accessories in the bright red hue.

Do you love what you're wearing? More often than not, the honest answer is: not always. Not because you don't like what you're wearing, but the fit isn't just perfect. I, like thousands of other women, have come to terms that I will rarely find a piece of clothing that fits my body in all the right places perfectly.

So when I was contacted by LURAP, an online custom clothing company, to choose a fashion piece from their site and review it for free, I got extremely excited to say the least. I had such a great experience reviewing eShakti, another online custom clothing company, over a year ago, that I decided for this review to put the fashion power in someone else's hands. Instead of me choosing the dress I was to try on and review, I asked my close MALE friend James to pick one for me.

Fringe has been a style trend since the beginning of this year and it doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. Same with distressed denim, every where I look I see jeans with holes and rips in them (much to the dismay of my father:). So I embraced both these trends and created a fun and comfortable look.

Most pieces in this outfit are not new and I have featured them in past My Style Posts. The only new piece is the fun fringe Vero Moda poncho I got on sale at Hudson's Bay.

When I first spotted this fabulous purple printed skirt at Express near the beginning of the summer, I fell in love with the colour (of course) and the fun print and sexy fit. And now that it's the end of August, I spotted the skirt drastically reduced in price!

I don't own a pair of jogging pants, fleece pants, or any kind a "sweat/jogger pants". I'm not a huge fan and I just feel uncomfortable leaving my house in something I would only wearing around the house or at the gym. So when I finally found a pair of denim joggers that I felt good in, I had to buy them!

I found these pants for the fabulous discounted price of $10! Ladies, I have found a store that any fashion-conscious woman would love! Its name is Urban Behaviour outlet store and its located downtown on trendy Queen Street West at the corner of Spadina Avenue.

Two Spring Transitional Outfits

Now that the weather has finally started to cooperate and the sun has come out of hiding, it's that time of year when it's hard to dress for the days that can go from hot and humid to suddenly very cool and chilly very quickly. During the transitional seasons like Spring, layering is the most easily and stylish way to look great, but still be able to stay warm or take off a layer if the warm sun makes an appearance.

Adding a cardigan or sweater is the most common layering technique, but a fabulous alternative to just throwing on a sweater is to turn that sweater into the top!

Now that the weather is starting to warm up (well sort of), I'm making a list and checking it twice of all the things I need to buy to get ready for Summer! One of the fashion items at the top of my summer shopping list was a swimsuit, which now has been (wonderfully) crossed off the list.

Several weeks ago I was sent a two piece swimsuit from new swimwear company Filosofia and I can't wait until I hit the beach!

Two Activewear Outfits from Winners

Five weeks ago I shocked everyone who knows me (and myself) and quit smoking and joined a gym. I began a Healthy Journey with many steps involved, including exercising and joining a gym. After signing up and paying my gym fees, I left feeling excited and proud of myself. But then just as I was getting on the TTC, it hit me - I needed clothes to workout in.

I've never really owned anything that would be considered 'workout clothes'; I haven't visited a gym in almost 20 years, so I really wasn't sure what I needed. I didn't want to spend a fortune on new clothes and I wanted something I will be comfortable wearing. Thank goodness for Winners!

I know it doesn't seem like it but Spring is almost here (I promise)!!! And a fabulous way to get over the winter blahs and feel renewed and excited about the new upcoming season is a fabulous new outfit in a fabulous fun pattern!

Mixing up patterns in an outfit is a great way to create a unique and fun look. And nothing says 'Spring is here' like florals!

A few weeks ago I posted about the fabulous limited edition Converse Andy Warhol Collection. I finally picked up a pair of these limited edition shoes and I'm so excited to show them off!

Two of my greatest loves are shoes and art and when they come together, it's like it's my birthday and Christmas all rolled into one fabulous moment! I love my new converse shoes, although they don't provide much protection in snow and slush. Now more than ever, I'm counting down the days until Spring (19 more days)!

I'm starting a new path in my professional career and needed to update to my wardrobe. I like to dress for the day depending on my mood that morning. I was feeling a little girly the day I saw these lace detailed pants at Joe Fresh.

The lace detail along the leg gives these regular black trousers a dressier feel and they fit wonderfully.

One of the biggest trends this season is faux fur. From the runway to the the streets, this cozy and stylish trend can be seen everywhere. From warm trim on coats and soft comfy scarfs to fun colourful coats, faux fur is the go to cold weather accessory.

I love faux fur and Winter is the perfect time to wear it. Not only is it warm and cozy, but can be fun and can quickly add glamour to any outfit. I fell in love with two faux fur jackets my last visit to H&M. The first jacket I featured in my last Style Post, and the second is this fabulous purple and blue one.

I can't believe that it's already New Year's Eve tomorrow night!!! In anticipation of the big night, I have been getting my party look ready to ring in 2015 in style! I have already chosen to wear Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art makeup and did my own glitzy nails with the easy imPRESS Press-On Manicure, now all what's left is the outfit (and my New Year's kiss :). When I saw this little black fringe dress at Joe Fresh, I knew I found the perfect New Year's Eve party dress.

Joe Fresh has some great fashion party pieces that are perfect for a fun night out, like this dress. The fringe along the front adds the perfect amount of festive fun, and will look fabulous when I'm dancing the night away. This dress is also super comfortable and fully lined.

Two H&M Christmas Sweaters Outfits

Tis the season to be jolly and wear holiday themed sweaters! I have seen many people sporting some fun and crazy Christmas sweaters lately, and there's no better way to get in the holiday spirit but to put on a Christmas themed top.

 

 

The retails stores and malls are packed with sweaters in red and green, but these two I saw at H&M caught my eye.

With the weather drastically turning cold and the sun rarely shining, I just want to wrap myself in soft, warm, cozy clothes and never leave the house. Unfortunately, I have a job that I need to go to that pays for necessities like food, rent, and of course clothes. So it's sometimes hard to find warm and cozy fashion that not only keeps the cold out but is fashionable as well. So when I spotted this soft purple(!) sweater at H&M in the Toronto Eaton Centre, I knew I hit the winter style jackpot!

Not only is the sweater a beautiful dark purple colour (my fave), but it's warm and was on sale for $20!

Back in September, I enjoyed the annual Manifesto Festival at Yonge-Dundas Square downtown Toronto. As well as some amazing street art and concerts happening, there were also many local vendors selling some really cool fashions. I bought two different Toronto t-shirts, one from 1 Love T.O., which I featured in a past Style Post, and the other from HeartBeats T.O.

I love the print design of this T-shirt, such a cool idea!!! The Toronto skyline forms a heartbeat much like an EKG machine readout. "HeartBeats T.O. is a clothing line designed to express the love for the City of Toronto in a unique way."

I'm always on the lookout for a new twist on the classic little black dress. A few months ago I got a funky little black dress from Bench, but when I saw this sexy black Vero Moda dress at the Hudson's Bay Danish Design preview, I knew I must own it!

I know it's not quite 'little', but for someone my height, a little dress sometimes equals a long top. So I love the hem length of this Bree black Vero Moda dress. And because this dress is so form fitting, the hem length makes the silhouette feel more demure and retro.
