Theatre & Music: Free Intimate Performances!

Canadian Opera Company Free Music Series Review

Toronto is an amazing city to enjoy so many arts and cultural events and performances, many for free! One of theses great events is The COC Free Concert Series. The COC or The Canadian Opera Company hosts, in The Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre at The Four Season Performing Arts building, a season of free intimate concerts that are divided into six groups: vocal, piano, jazz, dance, chamber, and world music.

Theatre: A Glimpse Into Egoyan's Cosi Fan Tutte!

Heya! Last weekend I had the fabulous opportunity to see the dress rehearsal for the first Opera of  2014, Cosi fan tutte, directed by Atom Egoyan. The dress rehearsal tickets are usually just given out to patrons of The Canadian Opera company, but my friend Jen had an extra ticket and I jumped at the chance of catching this behind the scenes look.

Theatre: Wickedly Beautiful!

Heya! A few weeks ago I was walking along The Path and came upon a wonderful sight!: The fabulous Wicked Witch costume and the ruby slippers that are being used in The Mirvish Theatre's production of The Wizard of Oz. They were on display for a short time at The Richmond-Adelaide Centre. If this is an example of the costumes used, I think I will have to go see the show. Although the mini exhibit is gone from the Richmond-Adelaide Centre, you can still experience the play, costumes and all, until August 18th at the Ed Mirvish Theatre.
