A few weeks ago one of the last cold weeks in March happened which is a sure sign that Fashion Week has arrived in Toronto. I don't know why but Fashion Week always has terrible weather - either very cold or wet or both. Which is unfortunate for people like myself who can't wait to wear their open-toe strappy heels to one of the best fashion events in Toronto.

Spark Sessions Fashion & Beauty Blogger Conference Recap

Two weeks ago, fashionably dressed ladies and gentlemen braved the cold weather and snow, and traveled to District 28, on the south side of Leslieville in Toronto, to attend the second annual Spark Sessions Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference.

Spark Sessions is a two day event organized by the fabulous blogger ladies Melissa Anwar (Chic Darling), Anjali Handa (beyondthedrop.com), Nicole Wilson (Dainty Girl), Elaine Atkins (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Melissa Grosser (The Domestic Peach), Anum Khan (Summerxskin), Jenny Jovanovic (Crazy, Style, Love), and Deanne Castro (My Fash Avenue). It's the only conference in Canada that is put on by bloggers for bloggers, which makes it quite unique. I enjoyed the first Spark Sessions Conference so I was really looking forward to this year's event.

Every fall for more than 10 years, my mom and I have had a standing date, a girls weekend where we catch up with each other, eat good food, and of course shop until we drop (sometimes quite literally)! 

My Mom travels to Toronto on the bus and train, from the small hamlet she lives with my Dad, north of Toronto. Our Mother-Daughter weekend is always the weekend The National Women's Show is in Toronto, and we have so much fun at the show!

Isabella Blow Fashion Exhibition Review

After watching the gruesome and hilarious annual Zombie Walk in Toronto on Queen Street West, I wanted to look at prettier things and decided to visit the amazing Fashion Blows exhibit at Hudson's Bay on Queen Street West.

Fashion Blows is a curated exhibition displaying some of the unique fashion collection of the iconic UK style editor Isabella Blow. Her eccentric fashion sense was over-the-top and amazing and her flair for dramatic hats was legendary.

Event: Toronto Gets [FAT]!

Heya! Last week I had the opportunity to attend the opening night of Fashion Art Toronto ([FAT]) Arts & Fashion Week, formerly Alternative Fashion Week. An event that has been going on for 9 years and has become the biggest multi-arts festival of it's kind in Canada. It is a great way for emerging and unknown designers and artists to showcase their creativity in over 50 runway shows, a variety of live performances, fashion films, and photography and art installations.

Shopping: Made Easy With Luxe Shopping Experiences!

Heya! A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending an exclusive preview of Luxe Shopping Experiences, a luxury shopping service for special occasions, at The Four Seasons Hotel. I had the opportunity to learn about the products and services offered by Luxe and their partners, which include Victoria Radford, Gotstyle Grooms, White Toronto, Trecanni Milano, and Knar Jewelry.

Event: Enjoying TFI Guilty Pleasures At The Drake Hotel!

Heya! On February 1, I enjoyed indulging in some Guilty Pleasures of mine: decadent food and drink and spending money I shouldn't on beautiful things! I was taking apart of The Toronto Fashion Incubator's (TFI) annual Guilty Pleasures Designer Shopping Event. 

Event: Spark Sessions: A Very Unique Experience!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a very exciting event downtown Toronto: Spark Sessions, Canada's FIRST and ONLY Fashion and Beauty Blogger conference. What an amazing and unique experience! Sparks Sessions was organized by some of Toronto's top bloggers with panelists and speakers from all aspects of the Social Media and Blogger Industry. The opening keynote speaker, that began the conference with a bang, was none other than Jeanne Beker. Her passionate and inspiring speech about being "fearless, to never give up, to have a unique voice and inspire the world", set the tone for the entire weekend.

Event: WMC Fashion Week: Subdued Beauty + Stunning Gowns!

Two weeks ago, it was that time again! That magical time of WorldMastercard FashionWeek in Toronto. Bloggers come out from behind their computers, designers emerge from their sewing machines, buyers and writers swap their sensible loafers for sky high stilettos. It's a wonderful time of year when the fashion elite mixes with the street style mavens of the general public! It's almost as fun as Halloween!

Heya! Last week I went to go see the Christian Louboutin: An Exhibition Celebrating 20 years of Design, Artistry, and Magic, at The Design Exchange downtown Toronto. And it was amazing! All those beautiful shoes and boots! I wanted every pair! 

  

 

Event: Fall In Love With Danier!

Heya! Last week I attended the Danier Leather Fall Fashion Show at Cube Nightclub's Katwalk event. It was a fun night filled with cocktails, meeting new people, great music, and of course Danier Leather Fashions! The show was hosted by Toronto's own Fashion Blogger, the Style Mogul, and the fashions were modeled by other Toronto Fashion Bloggers and writers. Event: New Ring, Necklace And Nails...Oh My!

 

Last Saturday, I arrived at The Shop for Jayu fresh collection launch popup sale, with one rule: Must only buy 1 item. Well of course that rule went out the window the moment I stepped through the doors at The Gladstone Hotel. I was welcomed right away and left to browse the beautiful displays of silver, gold, brass, and coloured jewels. I was a little surprised at the prices: Shop for Jayu advertises their designs for $60 or less, and there were several pieces that were more than $60. But they were still great prices for beautiful pieces and were less than $100!

Event: J.T takes T.O!

A few days ago Justin Timberlake and his best friend and business partner Trace Ayala, made an appearance at The Hudson Bay Store downtown Toronto. They were there to promote the expansion of their clothing line, WilliamRast  into all of The Bay's 90 stores. 

Timberlake making an appearance has squashed rumours that he was giving up on his clothing line, that was once named "Brand of The Year" by the AAFA. JT described WilliamRast, which is named after both Timberlake's and Ayala's grandfathers, of having a "rock and roll vibe", which translates into lots of denim, graphic tee's, some cool animal prints, and vegan leather.

On Thursday night I went to a private shopping party, accompanied by my always fabulously dressed friend, Scotty (boom botty :). The party was celebrating the 4th anniversary of the clothing store, The Coal Miner's Daughter and was co hosted by online fashion blogger The Dainty Girl. I have never been in this store and didn't really know what to expect but, Wow, I am now a new fan of The Coal Miner's Daughter!
