Shopping: Fashion That Speaks Volumes at Pipler Accessories!
Pipler Accessories Store Preview
Last month I was privileged to be invited to the opening of Pipler Accessories, a really cool accessories store in Cabbagetown in Toronto. As soon as I walked into the small store, I fell in love!Pipler Accessories is owned and operated by the married team of Leonie Lilla and Alice Clarkson who believe that fashion accessories have the powerful ability to tell stories and exude messages of integrity.

My Style: Navy + Pink Sophistication from H&M!
Evening Dress + Fashion Accessories Outfit
Heya! For the past several weeks I have been noticing a trend at several H&M retail stores. There are large collections that predominately revolve around the colour navy. As well, a lot of the pieces in these collections are more conservative and have an upscale style, that would be more appropriate for a work setting. I wanted to style something from this collection, and since I don't work in an office, I opted to style this cutout navy dress.Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Style: Easy Glamour!
Heya! I've been feeling a little unglamourous over the last few cold grey weeks. The sun is getting brighter and days are becoming longer, so I've decided to bringing a little glamour into the next outfit I styled. I feel in love with the Diesel silk dress the first time I saw it. It has 3 details I love: it's purple, has a very low back-line, and a flattering fit (hides everything I want to hide).

My Style: Far East Versatility!
3 Looks Styled with 1 Forever 21 Kimono
I was shopping at Forever 21 recently and immediately fell in love with this kimono. The bright colours are fabulous and a great reprieve from this overcast grey winter weather that seems to never end. I also love the versatile of this piece. I styled it here 3 ways, but the options are endless by just adding different accessories. And being from from Forever 21, it was less than $40!The my first look, I styled the kimono as a light cover up over a dress. I could really wear this kimono as a cover up over virtually anything, it would be a great way to add some colour to a basic black dress or dark denim. In the summer time, I could even wear it as a cover up for a swimsuit. I just have to use my imagination. I added s statement necklace to play up the whimsy of the kimono and wore basic pumps in a muted purple colour, to not make the outfit look too busy.
The Details!: Kimono from Forever 21 / Travis Taddeo Dress from Homegrown Boutique / Flower Necklace from Suzy Shier / Pumps from Nine West
Another way I styled the kimono was as a dress. Since the material is quite light and it's quite cold outside, I wore a tight basic dress underneath. But in the summer I can wear less garments underneath ( or nothing at all!), and still wear the kimono as a dress. The key to making a dress (or top) from this kimono is to add a fabulous wide belt. I opted for a wide corset type belt from Hot Topic. The belt reminds me of the wide sashes actual kimonos are tied with.
The Details!: Kimono From Forever 21 / Belt from Hot Topic / Vintage Clutch / Flower Necklace from Suzy Shier / Pumps from Nine West
And for the third look I created, I styled the kimono as a chic top and wore it over my tight black coated denim pants. I added a different wide belt from Hot Topic and my "go to" black booties. I love how this look turned out! And again the options are endless! Wear it over jeans, coloured slim trousers, or a short skirt. Add different shoes and accessories and suddenly the look has a completely different feel.
The Details!: Kimono from Forever 21 / Pants from H&M / Vintage Clutch / Expression Boots from Hudson's Bay
All 3 of these looks are great to wear to any event: dinner, drinks, or a gallery opening! I have to admit I felt very a la Carrie Bradshaw while styling this kimono. Hers' on Sex and The City was amazing!
P.s!: This is a great piece to add to any wardrobe and the versatility of this kimono makes it a great investment piece. Except I got it from Forever 21,
so it wasn't a very huge investment!
P.s,
Melanie!

My Style: Warm Winter Elements!
Now that the cold weather is here, I find myself dressing casual, with jeans and sweaters, more often. Sometimes it's hard to stay motivated to look stylish when I all I want to do is stay warm! The way to looking good while dressing warm, is to remember these 3 elements: statement accessories, layer in colour, and fashion forward knits, like this one I picked up at M for Mendocino a few months ago.

Style: Nice + Naughty Cheer!
Heya! When I found this cozy sweater and fun warm novelty socks from Urban Outfitters, I couldn't resist styling a Christmas themed outfit. So I braved the Toronto Ice Storm aftermath, to show this fabulous (and warm) outfit!

Style: Grande Sexy: Coffee + (Faux) Fur!
Heya! I don't normally post on the weekend, but this week has been so crazy hectic: trying to fit in work, holiday events, Christmas shopping, baking, and making a gingerbread house (yes, I made a gingerbread house), that I ran out of time to post on my blog! But I had to share this fabulous outfit I bought at Homegrown Boutique in Yorkville a few weeks ago.
I've always wanted to stop by and check this store out, being a place that features Canadian designer fashions. Armed with a $50 gift card I received from Spark Sessions and a resolve to find a sexy and chic dress, I finally had an excuse to buy myself a Christmas gift.

Style: Keeping It Mod With Yellow Butterflies!
Heya! Now that it's cold outside, and is going to stay that way for a while, I have to get creative on how I wear dresses and skirts in the winter. I want to stay warm and stylish, but don't want to look boring by wearing black tights all the time. That's why I am so happy I found this amazing online company called Zohara. They sell fabulous tights and leggings in very cool colours, designs, and patterns. The tights are so comfortable and last a long time. I still have the first pair I bought! They are so chic and versatile. Perfect for a visit to the AGO or a night of cocktails with friends on King Street West. I first came across this company at one of my trips to The National Women's Show (to find out more about my visit to The National Women's show go here).

Style: A Casual Statement!
Heya! I put together this new outfit for a casual afternoon spent with friends. We went out for brunch at a bistro along Bloor Street West and then window shopping and browsing in the great shops along Bloor Street. I wanted to remain casual and comfortable but still wanted some chic allure to the outfit. I layered a bright comfortable pullover over a plaid shirt that compliments the bright green. It was a cool afternoon, so the layering kept me warm. I paired the tops with some very comfortable distressed boyfriend jeans. To add some interest to the look, I introduced a shock of new colour with a statement Shop For Jayu necklace. Low heeled boots and a structured purse completed the outfit.

My Style: Hot Burgundy Leather!
Marshall's Leather Jacket + H&M Dress Outfit
Two really hot trends right now, is the colour burgundy and anything made from leather. Put the two together in one garment and you have a very stylish and fashionable piece of clothing.I recently bought this burgundy leather bomber jacket at Marshalls for only $35! It's actually quite warm and matches my burgundy boots and GUESS purse perfectly. I wore all these pieces with a basic tank dress from H&M. To add some "pop" to the look, I added home made (not by me) knitted arm warmers and a bright green scarf, I picked up at last years National Women's Show, for only $5.

Style: Looking Cool While Staying Warm!
Heya! With coat weather here, it can sometimes be hard to keep warm while still looking great. That's why I've come up with some great tips that help me to look cool while staying warm! Here are some of my tips:
A fabulous coat is the first thing you need to create a fashionable look. Preferably a coat that does not hide your curves.

Style: Pink Skulls + Black Leather!
Heya! With Halloween less than 24 hours from now, I decided to style another Halloween themed outfit. I went a little bit sexier with this one, for those ladies who want to go out and celebrate this scary day, but without the costume.

Style: Spanish Style!
H+M and Forever 21 Outfit
I love the new fall trends I've been seeing over the past few weeks. There is a lot of Spanish influence in some of the new collections I see in stores. I love the burgundy colours, large hats, and fringe trimmed clothing! I decided to bring all these fashion elements together and create one fabulous look.Tuesday, October 01, 2013
Style: Summery Fall Style!
Heya! With the weather still sunny but starting to cool, it can be hard to transition some of your favourite clothing pieces into a Fall Wardrobe. I love the outfit I wore to The Danier Leather Fall Fashion Show I attended several weeks ago and I can still where it now. (You can read all about The Danier Leather Fall Fashion Show here). The weather then is very similar to what it is now: sunny and warm, but can get cool once the sun sets. That's why I love this Shoshana Kuper dress I bought at The Coal Miner's Daughter Boutique on Queen Street West during The Summer Fling Shopping Event (you can read about The Summer Fling here).

Style: Graphic Cool!
Heya! I have been recently wearing a lot of graphic t-shirts. You can add some trendy flair to any outfit with a graphic tee and they are a fun way to express yourself and the world around you. They can be dressed up or down and styled so many different ways. Graphic tees have endless possibilities! Here are 2 of my newest additions to my wardrobe:

Style: Styling The Little Out Of The LBD!: Part.3
Heya! I have loved styling my +Forever 21 Long Black Dress, the new LBD, and showing off how versatile it is! As I have said, everyone should not only have a Little Black Dress, but the cooler weather version as well: the Long Black Dress. And just with some styling and accessorizing tricks, you suddenly have so many outfit options from just one dress!
This is the last post of a 3 post series. The first 2 posts I went casual. You can read them here and here. So, without further ado, here are my last 3 looks that I styled from the same Forever 21 dress. I went elegant and dressy for the last 3, so enjoy:
Look 8: Cocktail Hour!:
This outfit is so chic! I love how the animal print and feathers add a little "downtown" flare to the LBD. Also, I tied a wrap belt from Dynamite, around the waist just to give the outfit more shape and added long leather gloves, to amp up the the cool vibe of this look. Adding too many colours would make this outfit look to busy, so I kept the belt and gloves chic black. I added just a little colour, by wearing a vintage necklace, I got from an antique store, and my favourite feather clutch from Aldo. And of course some chic sunglasses I picked up at Shoppers Drugmart!
