Personal Care Review: Period Pampering from Avalai!

Avalai Monthly Subscription Review

For the past couple of months I have been so crazy busy. Between working extra jobs, the holidays, planning for my epic vacation, and playing catch-up, it sometimes feels like I don't even have time to sleep, let alone time run to the drugstore to pick up some essentials like pads and tampons.

So when I heard about a service for women that delivers a box full of pads, tampons, bath products, and other treats to your door, I was intrigued.

Avalai is a subscription service for women design by women. You get a customized box of pads, tampons, chocolates, bath products, and tea, delivered to your front door in a discreet brown box. After filling out a short questionnaire about my period flow and whether I would like tampons or pads, or both, a box arrived in the mail just over a week later. What's great is that you can specify whether you want your box delivered the first or third Friday of the month, so you can sync it up with your period.

I received a mix of three types of Always pads (7-10 of type), an assortment of small packages of chocolates and Jelly Belly Beans, chocolate covered pretzels, and a lovely chocolate souffle soap that smells delicious! The added bonus was the cute little foldable pouch that has pockets for pads and tampons - perfect for my purse! I like the idea of this service; although it does cost more than if you made the trek down to the drugstore yourself. But because it is delivered to your door, you can add up that cost to the price of convenience. Box subscriptions start at $19.99 a month and go up, depending on how long your subscription is. Avalai has all a girl needs to make it through a rough couple of days. Well almost, it's just missing the wine and Advil.

P.s!: Avalai donates a portion of their profits from each box to The Canadian Women's Foundation!

P.s,
Melanie!
