Food + Design Exhibition ReviewHeya! Last week I took the opportunity to visit the Design Exchange's newest cultural exhibit - Tapas: Spanish Design For Food. I would never call myself a 'foodie' and sometimes find myself eating just so I won' faint. But because I have enjoyed the last exhibit at the Design Exchange, This Is Not A Toy, I figured I give the Design Exchange's newest exhibit a try.
Tapas: Spanish Design For Food "explores the fusion of design and gastronomy in Spain." It was interesting to see the different varieties of ways food is prepared and presented and the correlation between design and food. I admit, this wasn't my favourite exhibit, as I look at food as something I need to eat to survive, but for anyone who sees themselves as a foodie, or who enjoys to cook, this exhibit is for you! There are over 150 accessories, utensils, and furnishings "that show off Spain’s cross-pollination of design, creativity and gastronomy values", separated into 3 different sections: The Kitchen, The Table, and The Menu. I did enjoy the cool furnishings and fascinating food and wine objects. And I was definitely hungry when I left this exhibit. Tapas: Spanish Design For Food runs until August 10, 2014.
And P.s!: Unlike most other exhibits at the Design Exchange, Tapas is completely free!!! Bon Appétit and !buen provecho.
