Event: World Pride Has Come to Toronto!

Announcement of World Pride Toronto Event

In case you have been living under a rainbow coloured rock for the last few months in Toronto, let me inform you on the amazing 10 day event that started yesterday in Toronto: World Pride!  World Pride is an annual event celebrating and educating the history and culture of LGBTTIQQ2SA (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, intersex, queer, questioning, two-spirited, and their allies), that has been held at different cities around the world for the past 3 years. World Pride Toronto is presented by Pride Toronto, and coincides with Toronto's annual Pride Celebration and Parade.

I have participated in the Pride celebrations in Toronto for many years as a friend an ally of my many gay friends. It has always been fun and I have met many fabulous people. This year, because of World Pride, there are many new and exciting events and exhibits that are being presented during the 10 day celebration. Many museums and galleries will be showing work that revolve around the theme of LGBTTIQQ2SA. I'm particularly excited about the Nuit Rose, a Nuit Blanche type art event, tonight June 21, starting at 7pm and runs until 3:00am. There are several artists and venues involved in this fabulous pink night! I also can't wait to catch a few of the amazing free concerts happening throughout downtown Toronto.
