Emily Carr is a name that most Canadians have heard. They may even be familiar with some of her work or remember her as a subject of one of Canada's Heritage Minuets short films. In the Art Gallery of Ontario's latest exhibit From the Forest to the Sea: Emily Carr in British Columbia, I, along with other visitors, were reintroduced to the the magnificence of Emily Carr.

Fresh from an acclaimed run at Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, From the Forest to the Sea is an absolutely amazing showing of Carr's work, tracing her journey not only as an artist, but her struggle with the outside world.

Two weeks ago I decided to visit one of Toronto's most historic places - Fort York. I haven's visited it in several years, save for the odd concert and Nuit Blanche event, and I really enjoyed myself wondering around the old buildings and reacquainting myself with old Fort York..

But before I entered the Fort, I visited the newly built Fort York Visitor Centre that is showing a major exhibit called Gertrude Kearns: The Art of Command: Portraits and Posters of Canada's Afghan Mission.

I can't believe June is already here. May was such a busy and hectic month! Between all the amazing things happening in Toronto, It was hard to fit in my family and friends and me time!

Some of my favourite moments from May had to be the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival exhibits at MOCCA and Gladstone Hotel, my Belt it Out Style Post, writing about the amazing Ireland Park, and of course Doors Open Toronto weekend!
