Skincare Review: Deep Down Clean from Biore!

Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser Review

For the last few months, I've been using Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser that I received in my Spark Sessions Swag Bag, almost every morning and night as a part of my skincare regimen. Charcoal has been popping up in ingredient lists of many beauty products in North America over the last year. Although it has been a main ingredient for a long time in beauty products in the Asian market, it still is relatively new on this side of the pond.

Charcoal is supposed to have excellent absorption properties and help create beautiful clean skin. Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser is the first product I've used containing charcoal and it may be my last.

According to Biore, this cleanser is supposed to "draw out and trap 2x more dirt and impurities than a basic cleanser", which it does, but it made my skin feel really dry. Although I get the occasional large blemish, this product was too drying for my combination skin. It wasn't too bad over the summer months, but now that the weather has changed, I can feel the drying tightness in my skin and am glad I'm nearing the end of the bottle. This cleanser would be more suited for someone who has very oily skin.

I did like that this gel cleanser was easy to use, rinsed off cleanly with no residue, and left my skin feeling smooth and clean with a matte finish. I also loved the fresh scent, which was a great wake-up boost in the morning. But the scent was strong and lingered, so those with sensitive skin should stay clear of this product, especially since I noticed one of the ingredients was menthol. Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser is available at mass retailers and drugstores for about $6.00 - $8.00.

P.s!: There are other Biore Charcoal Deep Cleaning skincare products that would probably work better with my skin type that I'm intrigued to try (like the Self Heating One Minute Mask).

P.s,
Melanie!
