Happening Weekend: Doors Open and Rocking Out!

Toronto Event Listing for May 22 - May 24, 2015

While most of the country considers Victoria Day long weekend (last weekend) as the unofficial start to the summer season, I personally consider the Doors Open Toronto weekend as the start of the summer season. Doors Open is happening this weekend and is among the many great events happening around the city.

Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival at Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, culture, explore, tourist, attractions, events, happenings, the purple scarf, melanie.ps ontario, canada

Here are my top picks for Happening Events this weekend!:

Exhibits & Culture:
Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival is nearing the end. With fabulous exhibits at MOCCA and Gladstone Hotel, I suggest you get out and see some of the hundreds of installations and exhibits before it's gone for another year.

Inside Out Film Festival starts May 21 and runs until May 31. The festival features film by and about the LGBT community, panel discussions and of course parties!

Music:
CBCMusic.ca is holding a one day music festival on May 23 at Echo Beach. Tickets are only $39.50 and kids under 12 are free!

Rock out with Monster Rock Orchestra at Young-Dundas Square. Hit rock songs played by an orchestra, a laser show and it's free! Need I say more?

Food & Drink:
CraveTO happens this Friday with 14 local food and drink stations serving up great street eats for less than $6.

Lifestyle:
Doors Open Toronto Event runs both Saturday and Sunday. Get a peek inside buildings and sites that are normally off limits to the public. I attend this event every year!

Anime North is Canada's premiere fan run anime convention. It takes place at The Toronto Congress Centre and International Plaza Hotel.

Shopping:
Yard Sale for the Cure happens at Trinity Bellwoods Park. Find that unique treasure with proceeds to go to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Junction's only Flea Market is this weekend at Echo Beach. The TD Echco Beach Spring Market happens on Sunday May 24 and is sure to be a treasure trove of crafts, antiques, and the unique!

P.s!: The Doors Open event offers many free walking tours! Please visit Doors Open Toronto for more info!

P.s,
Melanie!
